Head against the wall.
So, it is February 27. You know what that means? That means that I’m screwed. Joe and I planned a date on getting married of May 8 this year. I’ve got 2 months, and so far nothing is officially planned. I’m beating my head against the wall. I’m going crazy. I am crazy. Shoot me.
Here is my to-do list for the wedding:
(things that are crossed off have been done)
Find ceremony site and officially set date.
Figure out reception site.
Plan food to serve.
Buy food.
Prepare food.
Order cake.
Get wedding dress.
Get wedding dress cleaned and altered.
Buy veil.
Buy garter.
Buy shoes.
Get bridal bouquet.
Figure out bridemaids attire.
Make sure bridesmaids have shoes.
Get groom’s attire.
Get ties for groom, groomsmen, ring bearer, and Alex.
Get suits for Andy, Alex, and Aaron.
Make sure all men (and boys!) have dress shoes.
Get ringbearer pillow.
Finish guest list.
Order invitations.
Print invitations.
Send out invitations.
Purchase wedding bands.
Get marriage license.
Pick out music for dancing, “our” song, mother and groom dance, father and bride dance.
Burn cds.
…and thats just the basics that I have right now for an informal wedding. Yeah, I am so screwed. Why did I put a lot of this stuff off for so long? I will never know. But, I’m getting my ass in gear and things should be getting done.
Hopefully.

When I got married, we decided to get married on October 1 and had the wedding October 6. Yep one week and hubby wasn’t even there all that week but we did your entire list of things to do and then a bunch of other things. Except we didn’t have time to send out invitations so we had to call 50 plus people. But we had a wedding in the church (the previous year we took a class of engaged couples), we purchased flowers, a dress, had it altered, rented the tuxes, bought the unity candle, got somebody to video tape it, ordered all the food and the reception site, bought the rings, had the rings resized, decorated the church, met with the pastor, ordered a cake, and got music for the reception and tapes for my dad to sing to during the service and much more. All that was done in under one week. I wouldn’t recommend doing it that way, but it worked and turned out beautifully. My advice to you would be to assign yourself a couple of tasks a day to complete and get help from others like your mom or brides maids or whatever. I didn’t have brides maids or best men but did have a flower girl (oh yeah we went shopping for her too) and a ringbearer. The only thing that I could not book at the last minute was a photographer so I had a friend do it.

Relax honey! It’ll all get done :) I planned and held my wedding in six weeks, and it cost under $1500. Your computer is your biggest asset! lol
Chin up and good luck!
