Modern Princess

The long weekend.

Thank god the weekend is over and everything is back to normal in this house.

For me, the weekend began on Thursday at 6:30am when Teddy came to pick up Alex for his weekend. The reason Teddy came that early was because for the past few weeks he has been asking for more time “so his mom could do things with Alex, like possible go to Sesame Place.” The real truth is that his mother didn’t want to drive to pick up Alex on Friday night do to the awful traffic predictions. So, whatever, I’ve now got 4 days worth of free time on my hands. So, on thursday, I cleaned. Sort of. It was more like I cleaned when I felt like it and slept/watched dvds/played on the computer when I felt like it. Hey, it isn’t very often I get free time, I was going to try and relax for once. That night Joe and I went to see Shrek 2. It was funny and I laughed a lot and did the girl thing (you know, where you wave your hands in front of your face for no particular reason).

Friday was a lot like Thursday, only instead of seeing a movie, Joe and I went to Minako (at least I think thats the name of the restaurant). Anyway, it is one of those japanese steak and seafood places where they have the grill. We have never been to this particular one before (side note: we have gone to a japanese grill in aberdeen, bel air, white marsh, glen burnie, las vegas, and now this one in frederick) and it was pretty good. Good food, good chef, good atmosphere. All around good.

Saturday we did our usual grocery shopping and errand day. We also picked up Andy since we had him thanks to the holiday and since his mom offered us an extra day. It was the first time we had Andy when we didn’t have Alex, so it was pretty interesting. We think Andy was looking for Alex since he kept going into Alex’s room, but its hard to tell since Alex usually keeps a few of the more favorite toys in his room.

On Sunday Teddy dropped off Alex, and Alex showed off Andy to Teddy. Alex just cares about Andy so much, he was very happy to see him and to show his dad Andy for the first time. He was jumping up and down going “Andy Andy Andy Andy!” So cute. Alex also had his hair cut really short and in a different style then I like to keep it. This didn’t make me happy, but I was as polite as I could be to Teddy explaining that I like Alex’s original hairstyle and would like to have him call me next time he wants to get Alex’s hair cut. Teddy apologized and told me he would call me. Of course, it is always hard to tell how sincere Teddy is being, but only time can answer that question. For now, I’m hoping Teddy will keep his word and call me.

Monday was pretty boring and rainy. So, we didn’t really do much except for lay around the house all day till it was time to take Andy home to his mom. After we dropped Andy off we did go ahead to my moms house for a short visit. Alex was happy to see my mom and brother, as always. They played till it was time to leave, and then we went home.

Now it is Tuesday, and like I said things are pretty much back to normal. Thank god.
