Child Number 3?

Joe and I are talking more seriously about having child number 3. My next depo shot is due between September 21st through 28th. I’m thinking that even if we end up deciding not to try this time around that I probably won’t get my shot anyway because I definately want to start in January at the very latest. With depo you don’t have a period, and although I could concieve before I ever have a period, that makes things really complicated as far as figuring out a due date. So, I kind of want to have a regular period first. Furthermore, there are many cases in which the chemicals stay in your body long after you have your last shot, so I may not be able to concieve for months anyway. Its one of those things that you just don’t know until it actually happens to you, and frankly, I’m not sure I want to take the risk of waiting longer. After all, the age difference between the kids we have is big enough, Andy is about 6 and 1/2 years older then Alex. If I conceive right away Alex will be 3 and 1/2 years older than child number 3. For me, those are bigger numbers then I would like them to be. Either way with any luck sometime between November and March I will be announcing that I’m pregnant. Till then, be prepared to read details of “I got my period” and “I really think I’m pregnant, so I took a test and it was ____.”

    Good luck hon! I was on Depo for three years and it took me two years to conceive my son after my last shot… I had good success with herbals to kick start my system after going off of it… A bit of advice? Alot of women I know had good luck taking a 3 month cycle of the pill after stopping the depo. THe estrogen in the pill helps restart things, as Depo puts yourbody into an artificial menopause. Might be worth a try…
