Modern Princess

Potty training and glasses.

For those who are wondering about Andy’s photo album, yes I finished it, and yes I kept the prom picture as well as all of the other pictures of Andy’s mom. Yeah, thats all I have to say about that. 2 down, 2 more to go.

Anyway, I’m pretty proud of Alex. So far he has asked to use, and used the potty once every day the past few days. Its nice to see that he has gotten to the point where he can catch himself before he goes, hold it in, and tell me on a regular basis..all without any real prompting from me. I’ve been offering him underwear after he uses the potty in hopes that he will want to use the potty again that day, but so far he has biten. Its ok though..I’m in no rush to “officially” start potty training him, other than the usual potty introductions. So far he is doing just fine and I couldn’t be prouder of the progress he is making.

Joe really wanted me to get new glasses, considering my old ones were 10 years old and I never wore them. So, he took me out on Monday to get the eye exam and glasses. Personally, I hate eye exams. The fact that they blow air in your eye is yucky, and when they flip the lenses back and forth so fast that you can barely see out of either of them and everything is just a blur. The best part is picking out frames, and even then most of them look the same. I practically killed Joe when I picked one up, tried it on, and he said I looked like my mom. Ugh. They were really nice frames, but needless to say I didn’t choose them. Anyway, the vision place called today and I can pick up my glasses tomorrow night. After not wearing glasses for so many years (even though I should have been), its really going to take a lot of effort for me to remember to wear them. I’m not really looking forward to it. Sure, I’ll see better, but I’m so used to the way I see the world now. Its going to be a huge change for me. I hope Joe isn’t ugly. (kidding, of course.)
