The horse.
I bought Alex’s halloween costume today. Which is like a huge relief off of my back because last year I waited till the last minute to think of it and there were few costumes left in the stores that fit him and nothing that he was interested in. Of course, last year it worked out for the best and I got creative, but still I didn’t want to risk it this year. So anyway, I bought Alex a horse costume. He loves horses and he seems happy about getting to dress up as a horse.
I don’t think I’m one of those parent’s that picks costumes for her child because it is what they, the parents, like. I like to think I choose costumes for Alex because it is what he would want to be if he could tell me. Alex’s first halloween he was still very much an infant, but it was clear that he loved cats. So, Alex was a black cat. Last year, Alex was of course a wiggle, because that was what he loved the most.
This year he loves horses. Every day it is always “play horsie mommy.” Whenever he watches Stanley and he sees anything remotely close to a horse, like a giraffe or a zebra, he freaks out and starts whinnieing (sp?) at the tv jumping up and down on the sofa/chair like he is riding a horse. Oh, and lets not forget the fact that he refound an interest in his riding pony that I bought him when he was an infant. I’ve never seen him have more fun on that thing then he has recently.
I really think I made a good choice. I really think he is going to be very happy with his costume..even if he isn’t all that interested in trick or treating like he was last year. I really can’t wait.
