No Nut Joe

Yesterday was my birthday. It began ok for the most part. I promised Alex some donuts (because mom had already brought down an ice cream cake earlier that week) so I told him to go ask Joe to get the donuts. Well, Alex did..only when he says donuts, it sounds more like no nuts. So there he was chanting to Joe “No nut Joe!” over and over again. It was pretty funny.

The day moved on.. I watched a little bit of Sailor Moon from the full uncut Sailor Moon S collection that Joe had bought me for my birthday. It was good, especially since I really missed watching Sailor Moon. I think the last time I watched any shows had to be at least a few years. I especially enjoyed watching it with Japanese language/English subtitles. The translations were so much better and for once there was no mention of the word cousin. Although, thats not to say that the English version sucks..its actually kind of funny too in its own right. Oh, the Sailor Moon enjoyment to come.

I had Alex with me longer then expected. Teddy was supposed to pick him up at 6pm, but apparently there were major accidents near Baltimore and traffic was all backed up and such. (Interstate crashes injure dozens near Baltimore) So, Teddy didn’t actually get here until 8:30pm. It kind of pissed me off..although I don’t mind the fact that he called and told me that he was going to be late, but that he kept calling. 45 mins late turned into 1 and 1/2 hours. Then of course, he wasn’t even right, because he was 2 and 1/2 hours late. I want him to call once and only once and to be honest about how much longer he is going to be. After all, I had a birthday dinner to go to, and frankly I could have taken Alex with me and been back in more then enough time.

Anyway.. Joe and I went to a japanese steakhouse for dinner. The food, as usual was really good, and I even had some sushi. I know, I really shouldn’t eat sushi when trying to have a baby, but (tmi alert) I got my period yesterday so I figured 4 pieces couldn’t hurt anything since I wasn’t pregnant. Besides, it was really good. There was like 3 other birthdays while we were there. Two at other tables and one at a table where we were sitting. I warned Joe that he better not mention today is my birthday. Which, thank god, he didn’t. I’m glad for it too, as the chef kept wishing the woman sitting at our table a happy birthday 50 times and even started singing to her. Personally, I couldn’t stand that kind of embarrasment or attention. I’m one of those people who could live if no one sang happy birthday to me or even said happy birthday to me. But keep the pampering and the presents though, I like that. Yeah, as Joe says, I have birthday issues.

Who can blame me for that though? Horrible things happen on my birthday. It is the nature of the world.

Hi Amy! I found your blog through “BlogExplosion”. So you turned 23? Or just turned 22? Anyway, Happy Belated Birthday. So far we have 3 things in common. 1. I lived in Maryland (my husband is in the AF and we lived there for 3 years) We went to Baltimore a couple of times. 2. My husband’s name is Joe too. LOL
    3. I’m trying to get pregnant as well.
Best of Luck and I love your blog. You seem like such a nice young woman.
I will add you to my blog roll. I’d like to come visit you often.
