Busy days.
Today and tomorrow are going to be busy days.
Today I’ve got to go to my 15 week appt. I’m not really looking forward to it. Mostly its just run in, pee in a cup, poke my stomach a few times, small talk, ask/answer any questions, schedule my next appt and then leave. The next appt should be at 19/20 weeks, so that one is the big ultrasound where they take their good ole time looking at all the organs including the sex of the baby. Woo! I wish I could just skip to that one!
Then I was suposed to take Alex to his 3 year check up but the doctor cancelled on us, so now it has to be postponed until June. Fortunately, Alex is a healthy and developing well boy so in the end getting a doctor’s confirmation that he is healthy really isn’t that important. Truth be told, last year Alex threw such a fit every time the doctor or nurse came near him to do anything (weight, height, checking his ears, etc) that the doctor just gave up and said “Yeah, he’s healthy. See you next year.” Poor Alex, he hates doctors.
Then I get to go up to my mom’s house to stay the night there. Why do I need to stay there? Because at 9am on Friday I have to go to court up by where she lives. Apparently, Teddy filed for a modification of child support and that means dragging my butt into court. Yet another thing I’m not looking forward too. I’m probably going to lose in the sense that child support probably will drop from $184/month to much less. That is just what happens when courts only rely on the noncustodial parents current income, and since Teddy is in jail he claims none. Of course Teddy doesn’t even pay child support, so in reality it really is no change whatsoever. Nobodys lives will be affected by a new court order telling him to pay less money, so I really don’t understand the point of why Teddy filed. Alex will still have everything he needs. Joe and I will continue to be the only support he has. ..and Teddy, well he can still be held in contempt for failure to pay child support. But for whatever reason he filed, and now I’m left with fighting it for the sole reason of the principle of the matter.
Hopefully, on Friday or Saturday I’ll update with how court went.
