Modern Princess

Baby Clothes.

When Alex was a growing infant I packed his clothes away in boxes and stored them away in my mom’s garage. As such, I ended up keeping pretty much everything. Now that I’ve having another boy I’ve pulled out all of those clothes and went through them. It was a huge project, but I’m proud to say one that I’m finally finished. I’m also pretty sure my mom is very happy as it means cleaning out her garage too.

In the end I’ve got a total of three trash bags full of clothes that I’m giving away (woo..tax deduction!) Not to mention the kids closets are jam packed. Which is ok, as all of their clothes is kept in the dresser anyway. Alex’s closet currently holds everything from 0 months to 2t. Andy’s closet has the more recently outgrown 3t clothes, size 5-7 clothes that Andy outgrew, and plenty of extra hangers. I think its pretty safe to say that baby will have a lot of great clothes.

The only main problem I see is that Alex was born in the early spring while the new one will be born in the mid to late fall, which means a lot of the clothes early on won’t be weather appropriate. The rest really depends on the rate of growth. Alex was always a big boy, still is, and was in size 2t by his 1st birthday. Anyway it doesn’t bother me though, shopping for baby clothes is fun! I already know I need some fall/winter 0-3 months, I only have one or two weather appropriate outfits so far. Not surprisingly enough these same outfits are ones Alex never got to wear. So far I’ve noticed that The Children’s Place and Osh Kosh B’gosh have got great sales going to reduce their summer stock. Which for me means fall clothes are coming soon and I can finally start baby shoping! I’ve already aquired a 15% off coupon I can use at The Children’s Place, which is my favorite store but a place I rarely/never shop as it tends to be expensive. Yes, it is true, these are the things that excite me.

I gave almost all of Aarons clothes away. I knew several young girls who had gotten pregnant and were scared to death with no money, so they really appreciated getting good clothes for free. As did i when i was pregnant and people gave me free baby stuff.

I shopped the clearance racks a lot when i was pregnant. Aaron had a complete summer wardrobe for a total of $30.00. He had about 10-15 shirts and about 10-15 shorts. All size 3-6 mos and 6-9 months. It was awesome. I mostly shopped at Kids r us which is now closed. They had great 50% off clearance sales.

I bought Bean a present and i will give it to you tonight. Aaron helped it out, however, if it was completely up to him, Bean would have a pink and purple Bambi outfit. LOL! luckily i stepped in and remined Aaron that Bean is a boy.
