Pregnancy update.
I suppose it is about time I let everyone know what is going on with me.? Since I had gestational diabetes with Aidan, I’m high risk for having gd again.? Which isn’t a huge deal in and of itself, but here is the problem.? I’m showing signs of gestational diabetes already.? The doctors have put me on an unofficial diabetes diet and I’m supposed to get the gd test taken at 16 weeks, as opposed to the regular 24 to 28 weeks.? If I fail this test, and I most likely will fail, I go back to checking my blood sugar and I get to be on an official diabetes diet.? The only good news is that because I wasn’t insulin dependant last time it is unlikely I will be this time.? Keyword there is unlikely, which means it is still a possibility.? If by some chance I’m spared and pass the test I get to take another test at 24 to 28 weeks, and I’m pretty sure I get to come off my unofficial diabetes diet though I will probably be told to “watch my carbs” more and more the closer I get to 28 weeks.? Anyone who knows how that orange crap?they give you for the test tastes and how easy it is to puke up knows that facing the possibility of taking the test twice sucks to high hell.? Anyone who has diabetes or has had/does have gestational diabetes knows that taking the test twice is a small price to pay if it means you find out you don’t have it.? Can we say double edged sword?
Yeah, Joe and I are adopting our last child.
