Joe is the lucky one.
Joe is so lucky. I had to take my gestational diabetes test, and get other bloodwork done today. Alex had his 4 year, and Aidan had his 6 month today too. Poor us. Lucky Joe, he didn’t have to do anything.
My gd test went well considering. I guess I must be used to drinking that orange crap because I had no problems downing it in 5 mins, and I didn’t feel like I was going to vomit it back up like I normally do. The waiting room was equipped with a tv so I watched a little of that and read my magazines I brought to wait out the hour. When they took my blood though I started to feel really dizzy. I was probably dehydrated for one, and two because I had fasted and it was after lunch by that time I had skipped two meals. It really sucked when she had problems getting enough blood for the last couple vials and had to jiggle the needle around a bit. My arm still hurts from it. Anyway Joe picked me up with the kids and we all went to KFC for a late lunch and I felt better. If the doctor doesn’t call me, I have an appt scheduled on the 15th so I should definitely know than what my results were for the gd test.
Both Alex and Aidan had sucky doctor appts too. They both were due for vaccinations. Fortunately for Alex he only needs to get one more in December and he is done until years down the road when he will get his tetanus booster. Aidan however is another story, he has to go back in at 9 months for more shots and then he goes back again, and again, and again. Alex got a ton of stickers out of it. Aidan got diddly squat. Both kids got a lot of love, hugs, and cuddles.

Glad you made it through the horrid orange drink! I got to go lounge in a giant lazy-boy for an hour after mine. Very comfy, but I also got a little dizzy after standing up and then having my blood drawn while coming off such a sugar buzz.
Here’s to good results and not having to go in for the 3 hour gd!
