Happy Mothers Day!
Today is mothers day. Joe is doing a ham radio contest with his ham radio club today so I won’t see him till around 8 tonight. Which is why for the most part we celebrated mothers day yesterday. Joe got off work earlier than planned, so we did some things that I actually like to do.
We headed out to a yard sale, and although we got there kind of late, I did manage to spend $5 on 9 shirts for the boys. On the way home Alex thought of the idea to grab McDonalds for lunch, so we went through the drive thru. After lunch Joe, Aidan, and I took a nap. Meanwhile Alex went downstairs to watch tv and play with toys. Alex isn’t much of a napper lately. Then Joe and Alex went to get groceries, and while out they picked up some pink roses for me. Joe says that Alex is the one who picked them out, and based on the less than par quality of the roses I believe him. After all only a kid wouldn’t notice quality. Still, they are very pretty, smell very nice, and Alex was very sweet to pick them out. Then we all headed out to dinner to a suprise restaurant. Macaroni Grill. I’ve never been there before, and Joe has been saying he has wanted to take me there since we started dating, and yesterday he finally lived up to it. It was a nice place, and I really liked the fact that Alex could go hog wild and draw all over the table as the lined it with paper. I really enjoyed the ceasar salad. The lobster ravioli I ordered was less than thrilling, but still edible. I’m pretty sure it was the sauce that I didn’t like. The lemon passion dessert that Joe and I shared was pretty awesome. So all in it was ok. If we ever go back I’ll definitely order the ceasar salad, will probably go for a simple pasta like fettucini alfredo, and will either order the lemon passion again or that chocolate cake that looked really good. We came home, Joe and the kids fell asleep, and I stayed up till 11pm playing on the computer.
This morning before Joe left we finished out the mothers day celebration. Joe went to McDonalds to grab me breakfast. Alex and him shared a hot cake platter while I tried the sausage mcgriddle for the first time ever. Normally I’m not a breakfast sandwhich kinda person, but I Joe got one some weeks back and it looked really good. I blame the pregnancy. Also I was given my card and gift. Joe had picked out a matching set of pearl earrings and necklace. I had seen the set in a catalog last week and I really liked it. He must have remembered, which if you know my husband and his bad memory that is pretty amazing. Isn’t it sweet of him?
Happy Mothers Day to all you soon to be moms, moms, stepmoms, foster moms, grandmoms, great grandmoms, and women who want to be moms!
