What would your custom license plate say?
The other day Joe and I (and the 4 kids, of course) were driving to Diane’s house for Sunday dinner. At one point, the conversation goes something like this:
Joe: “I hate Duke.”
Me: “What? Huh?”
Joe: (points to car)
Me: (looks for a few seconds) “Oh. When you pointed I thought you were talking about a bumper sticker that said ‘I hate Duke.’ I didn’t see the license plate.”
Joe: “If you were to get a custom license plate what would it say?”
Me: “I hate Joe.”
Joe: (a bit startled) “What? Why?”
Me: “Well, I imagine her husbands name is Duke.”
Joe: “Oh. Well, I’m pretty sure they mean the college…”
Me: (cuts Joe off) “I know, I know. It was a joke.”
Later that night while in bed, I actually spent some time thinking about what I would want for a custom license plate. Joe and I have pretty much determined that if he were to get one it would be his call sign for the ham radio. But that leaves me with just a regular boring ole license plate. Not fair! After thinking in bed for a minute, I turn to Joe and suggest “What about ‘I love hams.’” He laughed. Seriously though, it would be kind of funny. How many people driving down the road would think that I love people that are into ham radio? Maybe a couple. Now, how many people would think “Now thats weird. She likes a big hunk of meat?” Probably a lot more.

Darling I don’t know if I’d WANT a custom number plate…
If I HAD to answer I’d go for RAD 10 S … that is an old style (before late 80s) British car number anyway, but of course with the letters and numbers prest together would read RADIOS. That is the plate I always wanted as a kid.
I don’t drive (live in London and frankly don’t really need to). To be honest I’m far more into taking the train… we can be in Paris in 2 hrs 15… you really cannot beat that by car!!

I’d have to go with H8RAIN because I have a convertible that leaks. At least it’s a lot of fun on hot sunny days. :) The other convertible in my neighborhood already has TOPLESS.
