Final Grades are in! Well, almost.
Yesterday afternoon my final grades were posted. They read:
Speech Fundamentals – A
General Psychology – C
When I saw that C in psychology I freaked out. How could my A before the final dropped to a C? I mean that is a huge difference. I calculated it out and realized that if I got an 81% or higher on the exam, my final grade for the semester should have been an A. If I received a 50% to 80% on the exam, my final grade should have been a B. The fact that I have a final grade of a C just didn’t make sense, so I checked the blackboard website to see if my grade for the final exam was posted. It wasn’t. I emailed the teacher, asking him what my final exam grade was. He told me that he never received an exam grade for me, assumed I didn’t take it, and gave me a 0. Now that explains the C.
But I’m not willing to accept a C so easily, as I did take the final. Instead, I told him the date and time I took the exam, and he confirmed it with the testing center. Thank you people at the testing center for logging each and every student in to the computer! He agreed to try and track down my exam, and if it can’t be found, then he will calculate a new score based on my previous work in the class. Which is totally reasonable.
So I continue to wait for my final grade.
